Posture Breakdown: Upward Facing Dog

October 25, 2017 By Kristen

To supplement our Posture Breakdown Guide, we’re launching a series of videos where we break down common yoga poses to help you shore up your form.

In this video we cover upward facing dog (aka “upward dog” or “up dog”). This is a foundational yoga pose, and it works it’s way into most yoga classes and sequences.

Up dog is a back-bending posture that stretches and strengthens your back and spine, and also strengthens your arms and torso. You’ll see it in vinyasa flows, Son salutations, power classes, and is a great way to work toward deeper backbends.

Grab your mat and let’s get started!
