Christian Yoga Slow Flow For Recovery

June 19, 2018 By Misty

Hi friends! I’m Misty, a new teacher here at Christians Do Yoga, and today I’m bringing you a slow flow practice.

I created this flow especially for those in addiction recovery, but this is a great flow for anyone who is looking for a bit of stillness.

For those in early recovery it can be very uncomfortable to get still with our emotions. Our bodies have grown accustomed to burying or covering up our emotions with unhealthy habits. Now that we have invited Jesus into our mess, those emotions begin to bubble out of us (and often at the worst moments).

I know it can feel overwhelming, friend, but you are not alone. Jesus wants those burdens. He wants to hold your hand as you confront a lifetime of buried and often painful emotions.

I’m inviting you into this space of slow movement and stillness with me today. My hope and prayer is for your heart to be open to letting Jesus spend time with you on your mat.

Much love,
Misty
