In this video we’re going to do a slow flow with a lot of backbends. Backbends generate a lot of energy, which is great…unless you’re about to go to bed. In that case, you might want to save this for the morning and try one of our other slow or gentle flows.
I also love how backbends can reverse some of the wear and tear of our daily lives. Whether you spend a lot of your day at a desk, behind a steering wheel, or holding babies, we all tend to spend a portion of our day hunched over. Backbends help reverse that and bring some restoration to those tired areas.
Our intention in this video comes from Psalm 139:23-24 (TPT): “God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways—the path that brings me back to you.”
My prayer is that you’ll experience Him on your mat in a powerful way as you open your heart and invite Him into those anxious and weary parts of your heart and soul.
