We’ve all heard about the importance of a strong core. Often times when we think of “core” we think of those 6-pack washboard abs we see in magazines and on Instagram.
While there’s certainly nothing wrong with pursuing that sort of midsection (in a healthy sort of way, of course), you can have a strong core without having a visible 6-pack!
A strong core is vital to health in multiple areas of your body! Aside from protecting certain areas while practicing yoga, which we’ll touch on in a moment, your core is what aids and protects your back and spine! It sounds counterintuitive, but strengthening your core can actually help with low back pain!
In this video I’ll teach you 3 ways to engage your core mindfully to help build a stronger and more efficient yoga practice, prevent pain in certain poses and transitions, and reduce the risk of injuries in your wrists, shoulders, and lower back.
We also touch on the importance of having a strong spiritual core as we take a few breaths and reflect on God’s Word, aligning our mind with His truth.
